The course covers topics related to:
- the geographic discipline (definitions, methods and tools);
- the human geography (demography, migrations, ethnicities, languages, religions);
- the political geography (nations, borders, conflicts);
- geography as a science of the territory, the sustainability and the complexity;
- objectives, methods and tools for teaching geography.

Learning Objectives
The students will be able: to acquire knowledge and skills useful for a reading of the world; to develop geographic knowledge and skills in order to use them in practice; to teach geography at elementary or secondary schools.
Prerequisites
A basic knowledge of the main concepts and themes of human geography is required.
Sufficient familiarity with the use of maps and cartograms is also required.
Teaching Methods
The module is approached in an interactive mode which includes actions by both the lecturer and the students (cooperative leaning, flipped classroom).

Course program
The course aims to provide the main concepts and themes of human geography. At the same time it will pay attention to the most useful methodologies of transmission of these themes. The students learn how to apply scientific methods and facts in geography classes and are placed a position to plan, conduct and evaluate geography lessons properly and in a manner appropriate for the pupils to whom they are addressed.
