Stages and Internships

In the second year of the course, students are required to carry out an internship (“stage”), regulated by an educational project that defines objectives, duration, and expected results.

Students are requested to select one of the following activities in their study plan:

  • B028445  - 6 credits internship (150 hours)
  • B030094  - 12 credits internship (300 hours)

Students may undertake the internship in two different ways:

1. Internship with accredited companies and/or institutions

The School of Humanities and Education maintains a navigable list of organisations that have an active agreement with the University and that regularly host interns. Students are kindly invited to explore this list to identify potential opportunities.

The entire procedure is managed by the School’s Internship Office (Ufficio Stage), in collaboration with the Professor in charge of internships for the Master’s Degree Programme.

Useful resources:

Internships are also possible with organisations that do not yet have an agreement with the University. In this case, upon request by the student, the Master’s Degree Programme may activate a new agreement through the Internship Office.

Alternatively, students may independently find an internship position with an external organisation, ensuring in advance that the activities are coherent with the objectives and structure of the programme.
These activities can later be recognised as internship credits by the Degree Committee, provided that the student completes the formal recognition procedure, which includes:

  • submitting a credit recognition request (modulo di riconoscimento crediti, with a €16 marca da bollo),
  • writing a short report describing the activities carried out,
  • providing an official certificate from the host organisation indicating the total number of hours completed.

This option is also valid for online internships, including collaborations with institutions based in the student’s country of origin.

2. Internal Training Activities (Attività Formative Interne)

As an alternative to an external internship, students may take part in internal training activities developed within the Departments or Research Laboratories of the University. These activities may later be recognised as internship credits by the Degree Committee.

This solution is particularly suitable for students interested in research and wishing to be involved in ongoing projects. In some cases, the activity may also stem from a student’s original research idea, to be discussed and refined with Professors.

Approval process

Any internship—external or internal—must be approved in advance by the Teaching Committee before activities begin. Students are kindly requested to contact the Professor in charge of internships: Paola Zamperlin.
